      Moffat is a former burgh and spa town on the River Annan. The most notable building is the Moffat House Hotel designed by John Adam. The nearby Star Hotel, a mere 20 feet ( 6 metres ) wide, held a record in the Guinness Book of Records as the narrowest hotel in the world. Moffat is a short distance off the Southern Upland Way which passes through nearby Beattock  |
