The Old Parish Church in Hamilton

Built in 1734

( replacing a 15th-century building )

it features Georgian architecture

with an unusual, largely circular design.

It is the only church building to have been designed

by the architect William Adam.

The church was originally founded in 1874
as the 'Burnbank Mission Station'
of St John's Free Church.

The church was rebuilt in 1880
with a design by architect John Hutchison
exhibiting features
in the 13th-century Gothic style.
