Cairnoch Hill & Earlsburn Reservoirs - Route Description:
Woodland tracks lead up past the site of Sir John de Graham's Castle to Cairnoch Hill.
An extensive panorama extends from a fine viewpoint on approaching the summit: Meikle Bin above Carron Valley Reservoir, Campsie Fells and Fintry Hills above Carron Valley.
Heading north from the trig point on the summit, a narrow, tenuous, difficult to follow trail, almost blocked in places, heads down through dense forest, across a track and onto the road that starts from Carron Valley Reservoir. A few kilometres up the road a track leads off to the two Earlsburn Reservoirs.
Return route from the reservoirs was over Hart Hill surrounded by huge wind turbines.
