The falls haven’t frozen in recent years and the climbers have had to head further uphill for their sport, but Eagle Falls continue to attract the active walker with relatively straightforward access, spectacular amounts of water and ﬁne views. Having said that, the route is rough in places and can be wet, so be prepared for the possibility of some ice on the path if it freezes overnight. Appropriate footwear is always essential. Parking is possible at one of the car parks by the Drovers Lodge and Drovers Inn at Inverarnan on the A82, from where the falls can be seen. Follow the path beside the road, going north to the signposted access road to Beinglas Farm and campsite. Cross the bridge
over the River Falloch and continue towards the farmhouse, signposted “bar and restaurant", where a road leads round to the right in front of the restaurant to a track at the back of the farm, the route of the West Highland Way.
Turn left on to this and follow the track north as it ascends Glen Falloch. At a point where the path starts to descend slightly, an obvious grassy track branches off to the right. (A short distance on from this, another track joins from the left: if you come to this point, you have gone too far.)
Follow the grassy track as it zigzags up the hillside. with ﬁne views of Glen Falloch, to arrive at a gate. Go through this, continuing to gain height, with views back north to Ben Lui and Beinn Dubhchraig as they start to rise above Glen Falloch.
Go over a ridge of high ground and descend to meet the old cattle drovers’ route from Inverarnan to Loch Katrine in the Trossachs, which is also the route to the popular (if rather boggy) Munro Beirm Chabhair. Turn right and follow the path steeply back down into Glen Falloch. The noise of the waterfall is unmissable, although the upper section is fenced off to protect visitors and sheep from getting too close. The path is continuously steep and eroded in places, with some rocky sections, and leads down to a ladder stile at Beinglas and the access road back to Inverarnan.
