Pancake Rocks on the Tasman Sea

Pancake Rocks on the Tasman Sea coastline of the South Island The "Pancake Rocks" are a popular tourist attraction at Dolomite Point south of the village of Punaiki.  The Pancake Rocks are a heavily eroded limestone area  where at high tides the sea bursts though vertical blowholes. These, together with the 'pancake'-layering of the limestone,  form the main attraction of the area. Pancake Rocks and Punaiki lie within the area of Paparoa National Park
