Bryce
Canyon Bryce
Canyon NP is in SW Utah.
Despite its name it is not a canyon but a giant natural amphitheatre. Bryce is distinctive due to its geological structures ( hoodoos ) formed by wind, water and ice erosion of sedimentary rocks. The red, orange and white colours of the rocks provide spectacular views. Bryce is at a higher elevation than the nearby Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon. The rim at Bryce varies from 8,000 - 9,000ft ( 2,400 - 2,700m ) while the south rim of the Grand Canyon is at some 7,000 ft ( 2,100m ). |
