![]() Ta Prohm was built in the Bayon
style
in late 12th / early 13th century. Originally named Rajavihara . Located approximately one kilometre east of Angkor Thom on the southern edge of the East Baray near Tonle Bati. It was founded as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university. Ta Prohm has been left in the condition in which it was found: the photogenic combination of trees growing out of the ruins have made it one of the most popular temples at Angkor Wat. |
